Moment of Silence is a song by the Romanian singer Ovidiu Anton . He was supposed to represent Romania at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with the song , but the country was disqualified.

Moment of Silence was written by the singer himself. On February 11, 2016 it was announced that Ovidiu Anton will participate with the song at the Selecția Națională 2016 , the Romanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . The song was released that same day. He qualified for the final in the semifinals, which took place on March 4, 2016, and won it two days later. On April 22, 2016, it was announced that Romania was excluded from the Eurovision Song Contest because the state broadcaster Televiziunea Română had not paid accrued fees of 16 million Swiss francs.
