Snapshot

A good thought: that I didn't think of it sooner! With a single good snapshot you can throw up the whole investigation! (From the Simplicissimus )

A snapshot is generally the recording of a short period of time , a moment or a (special) moment, for example in memory or by writing literature . In this sense Heinrich Böll is said to have said: "I am a clown and I collect moments" .

Importance in photography

In photography , the snapshot is a historical term for short exposure times. The exposure time of 1 / 30th of a second or shorter usually allows a steady hand to take a picture without the need to hold the subject still. Very simple cameras often only had one shutter with the two settings "B" for manual long exposures and "M" for snapshots.
