Momoko Tsugunaga ( Japanese 嗣 永 桃子 , Tsugunaga Momoko ; born March 6, 1992 in Chiba Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese idol . She became famous as a member of Berryz Kobos and through her appearances in various Japanese television programs as a media personality ("Tarento"). She is currently a member of the Country Girls group .

biography

Tsugunaga participated in a Hello! Project Casting and became one of the 15 members of Hello! Pro kids. In her early days she played in the film Koinu Dan no Monogatari. a main character and appeared in music videos as a background dancer. In 2004 she and 8 other girls were chosen to form the Berryz Kobo group . There she took over part of the main vocals early on. In 2007 she also founded the group Buono! With Miyabi Natsuyaki and Airi Suzuki ! whose leader she became. Around 2007, Tsugunaga began doing some solo work in addition to working in a group. She published photo books, appeared in advertisements, and hosted radio shows. Since summer 2011 she has also been increasingly seen on television and is part of the regular cast of some shows. She began creating a fictional character named Momochi , whose features are two braids and an annoying manner (described as Ira-dol , as a pun from irritating idol ). The saying " Yurushite-nyan ", in which she holds her hands in front of her like a cat's paw, has become her trademark . This saying became a whole song called Momochi! Dedicated to Yurushite Nyan ♡ Taisou , which can be found on the Berryz Kobo single cha cha SING . For several years now, Tsugunaga has repeatedly been in the top 20 of the most famous female idols. In a poll by Nikkei Entertainment magazine , she was ranked 15th among the most influential idols. After Berryz Kobo's last concert in March 2015, Tsugunaga will join the group Country Girls as an aid.

In addition to her public career Tsugunaga studied on teaching and graduated in 2014 with a teaching qualification for the information of kindergarten and primary school classes. She wrote her thesis on the question of how best to teach people with disabilities. She confirmed this in a radio interview.
