The Monadnock Building is a skyscraper in Chicago that is included in the Chicago School . The 17-story office building consists of two parts. The northern part was built in 1889–91 by Burnham & Root , the southern part in 1891–93 by Holabird & Roche . With a height of 60 meters, it is still one of the tallest buildings in the world with load-bearing masonry .
