Moonlight card is a historical name for a fad in the postcard world .

These are maps that show a location, such as a romantic city scene, in the moonlight. The moon can almost always be seen on these postcards. In addition to lithographs with moonlight motifs, there are also photo postcards, for example, in which the illusion of a night photograph was achieved through post-processing. Moonlight maps were popular around 1900; most of the maps date from 1898 to 1906.

Newer cards, on which the moon can be seen, are not referred to as moonlight cards in the sense of the collector's definition, since postcard collectors are mostly only interested in old postcards.

A similar type of card, but one that is less commonly found, is the aurora (dawn) cards.
