Monika Führer (medical doctor)

Monika Führer (* 1961 in Graefelfing ) is a German palliative medicine specialist .

Führer received his doctorate from the University of Munich in 1993. From 2002 to 2008 she was head of the bone marrow transplant department at Dr. von Hauner's Children's Hospital . Since 2009 she has been Professor of Pediatric Palliative Medicine at LMU Munich . On her initiative, the children's palliative center opened in 2016 at the Großhadern Clinic , the first children's palliative center in southern Germany, was built.

In 2014 she was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit.
