Monika Schausten

Monika Schausten (born May 18, 1963 ) is a German specialist in German .

Life

After studying German, philosophy and psychology at the University of Cologne (1982–1990), she taught from 2005 to 2012 at the professorship for older German literature and language at the University of Siegen . Since 2012 she has been W3 Professor for Older German Language and Literature with a focus on the late Middle Ages and early modern times at the University of Cologne .

Her main research interests are German literature of the Middle Ages and early modern times, the history of mentalities and historical anthropology, the mediality of the premodern: visual topoi and color discourses in medieval literature, exchange economies in medieval literature and gender theory and historical gender research.
