Monika Wörmer-Zimmermann

Monika Wörmer-Zimmermann (born July 4, 1944 in Winsen (Luhe) ) is a German politician. She is married and has three children.

education and profession

After school, Wörmer-Zimmermann completed a commercial apprenticeship. After that and after the birth of her first two children, she was involved in family work. Then she worked in the commercial area. She was office manager, HR manager and head of commercial processing in a medium-sized production company. From 1984 until her election to the state parliament, she was the head of a commercial training company at the German Employee Academy .

Wörmer-Zimmermann has been a member of the SPD since 1972 . For many years she was represented on the boards of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women at local, district and state level. From 1976 to 2003 she was councilwoman for the city of Buxtehude . In addition, she was a member of the district council of the Stade district from 1986 to 2006 . From 1994 to 2008 Wörmer-Zimmermann was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . She is also a member of ver.di , the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , BUND , Pro Familia , SJD-Die Falken and the Social Association Germany .
