The Grafenau monolith is a possible menhir near Grafenau in the Freyung-Grafenau district in Bavaria .
Location and find history
The stone is located southeast of Grafenau, in a wooded area between the districts of Neudorf and Seiboldenreuth . It was discovered around 2004. 3.5 km to the southeast is the Ringelai stone circle and not far from there is another monolith at Neidberg .
description
There is no information about the material of the stone. It is blade-shaped and inclined at 45 °, but is said to have stood upright until 2004. Its height is 200 cm, its width 100 cm and its thickness 70 cm.
