from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In construction, a monostrand is a single seven-wire strand made of prestressing steel that is factory-protected against corrosion with grease and a PE sheath . It is used for prestressed concrete construction without form-fitting grouting of the strand.

Typical monostrands have a prestressing steel cross-section of 140 mm² to 150 mm² and a tensile strength of 1770  M Pa or 1860 MPa.
