Monotonix is the name of a rock band from Tel Aviv , Israel, founded in 2005 . Their music style is based on rock music from the 1970s and the hard crossover sound from the 1990s.
In 2006 and 2007 Monotonix played over 300 concerts in North America and Europe, including at South by Southwest . In 2008 they released the EP Body Language on the Drag City label . After the release of the album, the drummer Ran Shimoni left the band and was replaced by Haggai Fershtman. Monotonix became known for the fact that their concerts usually come up with daring actions and often escalate into wild parties, which in their hometown led to event closings by the police and performance bans.
