The Monster Cable Products, Inc. , based in Brisbane in California is an American manufacturer of audio equipment.

prehistory

Monster was founded in 1979 in San Francisco by Noel Lee. The current location has moved to Brisbane, with additional locations in Ennis (Ireland) , London and Hong Kong . In the beginning, Monster focused on the manufacture of audio and video cables.

The private company employed more than 600 people in 2012. Industry experts estimate annual sales at around $ 500 million.

Products

In addition to audio and video cables, Monster manufactures headphones, speakers, remote controls, power conditioners, and cell phone and car accessories. The products are sold under the names Monster Power, Monster Mobile, Monster Performance Car, Monster Game, Monster Photo, M • Design, among others.

In 2008 Monster appeared with the series “ Beats by Dr. Dre “contributed to the headphone industry. The headphones were developed in partnership with American rapper Dr. Dre created. In 2012 the partnership between Monster Cable and Beats Electronics was ended. In the same month, Monster introduced its own range of headphones. Similar to the models from Beats Electronics, prominent musicians, such as Nick Cannon , advertise Monster products.

Candlestick Park

On September 28, 2004, Monster acquired the naming rights for Candlestick Park, the stadium of the San Francisco 49ers , which was then renamed Monster Park. In 2008 it was renamed Candlestick Park again as the naming rights expired.
