Monte Attell

Monte Attell (born July 12, 1885 in San Francisco , USA - † November 26, 1958 ) was an American boxer of Jewish descent in the bantamweight division .

Professional career

He started his career in 1901. On February 22, 1909, he boxed against Jimmy Reagan for the universal world championship and won by unanimous decision. Attell lost this belt after exactly one year to Frankie Conley due to a technical knockout in round 42 in a fight scheduled for 45 rounds.

In 1916 he ended his career.

In 2015 he was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame .
