The Monte Pecoraro (in the Calabrian dialect Picuraru ) is at 1423 meters the highest peak of the Serre mountain range in southern Italy . It is located on the territory of the municipality of Mongiana in the Calabrian province of Vibo Valentia .
The Ancinale stream rises from the Pecoraro and flows into the Golfo di Squillace .
