The Monteliusvägen is a footpath on the north shore of the Stockholm island Södermalm in Sweden and is known for its wide view over the city.

The 416-meter-long path stretches north of the buildings belonging to the Mariaberget district and is 20 to 30 meters above the water level of Riddarfjärden and the Söder Mälarstrand road that runs along the shore . It begins in the west on the Kattgränd and runs east to the Skolgränd . At the west end there is also a connection to Söder Mälarstrand via stairs. From the path there is an unobstructed view of the Riddarfjarden and in particular the urban areas of Kungsholmen , Riddarholmen and Gamla Stan .

Plans to build the path had been in place since 1977, but construction did not take place until 1998 and cost 14 million Swedish kronor , twice as much as initially estimated. The direct residents turned against the construction of the path. A well-known critic was the journalist Ingemar Unge .

The road was named after the Swedish prehistory Oscar Montelius designated to the nearby, at the address S: t Paulsgatan 11 property Monteliushaus was born.
