The Montschetundra ( Russian Мончетундра ) is a 30 km long mountain range northwest of Lake Imandra in the Murmansk Oblast in Russia . The highest point is Mount Chipik at 965 m. The Montschetundra lies entirely in the Lapland Biosphere Reserve . The mountain slopes are covered with tundra vegetation. In the mountain range there is the mountain of the same name, Montschetundra , 655 m high. The Waikis River runs along the north side of the mountain range . At the foot of the mountains there are a number of lakes, the largest are: Pagel , Krasnaya Lambina , Seidjawr . In the west, the Montschetundra borders on the Tschunatundra mountain range . In the foothills of the lake Montscheosero the city is Monchegorsk .
