Life

He was one of the sons of Reinhard von Gemmingen (1532–1598) and studied in Tübingen from 1586 . When the inheritance was divided in 1599 between him and his brothers Eberhard (1567–1611) and Reinhard the Scholar (1576–1635), he received Treschklingen and the Lauterbacher Hof , as well as validity and tithe rights in Sulzfeld , Kirchardt and Schwaigern .

family

Hans Wilhelm von Gemmingen was first married to Martha Zuckmantelin von Brumat (1582–1611) from February 2, 1600 and his second marriage from 1612 to Anastasia von Degenfeld , a daughter of Johann Christoph I von Degenfeld . He and his first wife were buried in the Treschklingen church , where their gravestones have been preserved to this day. The funeral speech for Martha was printed in Tübingen in 1611 and comprises 64 pages, along with a 14-page blessing and an 18-page preface. His second wife Anastasia married the distant relative Dietrich von Gemmingen (1584-1659) after his death . Since his marriages only had two daughters, his property in Treschklingen fell to his brother Reinhard the scholar after his death.
