Dietrich von Gemmingen (1584–1659)
Dietrich von Gemmingen (* 1584 in Gemmingen ; † June 9, 1659 at Guttenberg Castle ) was the landlord in Gemmingen and Guttenberg Castle. He was also knight captain of the knight canton Kraichgau .
Life
He was the son of Wolf Dietrich von Gemmingen (1550–1595) and Maria von Gemmingen-Bürg († 1609). From his father he inherited Gemmingen and Guttenberg Castle, while his brother Wolf Dieter von Gemmingen (1595–1645) received the goods in Bonfeld , which split the Gemmingen-Guttenberg line into two branches. He died in 1659 at Guttenberg Castle and was buried in Gemmingen.
The common grave slab for him and his son Johann Dietrich († 1706), originally in the old Gemminger church, is now in the garden of the Gemminger lower castle . The grave slab shows the Gemmingen-Neipperg alliance coat of arms, including an inscription panel and numerous smaller coats of arms.
