history

The stately building at 3821 Lindell Boulevard in the neo-Moorish style typical of the Shriners' meeting places dates from the heyday of St. Louis just before the First World War. The then "Moolah Temple" was inaugurated in 1913. The Shriners met here until the mid-1980s, then the building was sold in 1988 and fell into a long slumber. The renovation as an old-style cinema cost over $ 17 million and received high praise for maintaining a traditional city landmark.
