Zita Swoon is a seven-piece Belgian indie rock band. It was founded in Antwerp in the early 1990s by Stef Kamil Carlens and drummer Aarich Jespers. In the early days Carlens devoted himself to his main band dEUS . In 1993 the first work of the group, which initially operated under the name A Beatband , was released, the EP Jintro Travels the Word in a Skirt . The name was changed to Moondog Jr. for the first album Everyday I Wear A Greasy Black Feather On My Hat . However, since this led to problems with the composer Moondog , the band renamed itself again and has since been known under the name Zita Swoon .

In 1996 Carlens left dEUS and since then several albums have been released on various labels.
