The Moore Mountains are a small, distinctive mountain group in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . They loom just north of New Year Pass in the Queen Elizabeth Range .
The mountains were explored in 1957 by the New Zealand Southern Group on the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958). It is named after Richard Douglas Moore (1903–1965), Treasurer of the Ross Sea Committee .
