As foam rubber , a largely closed-and more elastic foam called that the pores rubber part. It is manufactured from chloroprene , natural rubber (NR), acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) or comparable synthetic rubbers (CR, SBR, EPDM, HNBR, VMQ, FPM) with the addition of propellants .

Foam rubber is used in many ways as a sealing material in the form of round cords, square profiles, plates or molded parts, as well as insulating clothing material in diving suits. The rings in ring tennis are also made of foam rubber.

Form vulcanized foam rubber can be produced with a compacted or closed surface.

The material is often confused with closed- cell cellular rubber or EVA foams , which are incorrectly referred to as foam rubber in the craft sector.
