The Morgen-Post was an Austrian daily newspaper that appeared in Vienna between 1854 and 1886 . In some cases it contained an extra sheet , from 1866 to 1885 the Wiener Familien-Journal appeared as a supplement . The continuation of the newspaper from 1886 was the Wiener Tagblatt, which appeared until 1901 .

Morgen-Post was founded by Leopold Landsteiner , father of the Nobel Prize winner Karl Landsteiner . From 1855 to 1867 the journalist Moritz Szeps was editor-in-chief. In 1886 he bought the Morgen-Post and changed its title to Wiener Tagblatt .
