Moritz Bünsow

Moritz Bünsow (* in Greifswald ; † 1587 ibid) was mayor of the Hanseatic city of Greifswald.

Moritz Bünsow came from the Greifswald council family Bünsow and was a son of the Greifswald mayor Caspar Bünsow . He enrolled in 1540 to study at the University of Greifswald . With the death of his father in 1555 he became councilor in Greifswald. Bünsow was provisional to the Heilig-Geist and St.-Georgs Hospital in Greifswald. In 1565 he became bailiff and in 1577 mayor of the city.

Moritz Bünsow was married to Catharina Corswant, daughter of Greifswald's mayor Peter Corswant . Several children were born from the marriage. Both spouses were buried under a preserved coat of arms slab in the Marienkirche .
