Moritz Müller (theologian)

Moritz Wilhelm Gotthard Müller (born November 30, 1806 in Weimar , † December 22, 1886 in Merseburg ) was a German theologian and writer .

Life

Müller studied theology at the University of Jena and then got a job as an assistant preacher in Weimar. In 1828 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. In the following years he held parish offices in Berka (today Bad Berka ) and from 1848 to 1867 in Niederroßla near Apolda .

As a writer, he benefited from his intimate knowledge of Weimar's cultural life and his acquaintance with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , Johann Nepomuk Hummel and other greats in the city.
