The Moroka Swallows (German: "Moroka-Schwalben") are a football club from Johannesburg in South Africa that played in the top division, the Premier Soccer League , until the end of the 2014/15 season . After the 2015/16 season, the club was also relegated from the second division First Division . Moroka is a district of Soweto .
The team plays at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto , a suburb of Johannesburg. The official sponsor is Volkswagen and the outfitter Puma Football.
history
The club was founded in 1940 under the name Congregated Rovers in Johannesburg and renamed in 1947. The club's most successful period was the 1950s and 1960s. The highlight was winning the South African championship in 1965.
In 1971 the Moroka Swallows were the first association to be converted into a public company.
