Mosaic. The incredible adventures of Anna, Bella & Caramella

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mosaic. The incredible adventures of Anna, Bella & Caramella is a German comic series , the first issue of which was published in August 2008. The series is an offshoot of the mosaic comic series . The three eponymous protagonists Anna, Bella and Caramella were introduced in issue 393 in September 2008 and met their male counterparts Abrax, Brabax and Califax there. Anna and Abrax (blonde hair) correspond to each other, they are the wild, unbridled members of their trio, Bella and Brabax (red hair) are the bright minds and Caramella, like Califax (black hair), is more of the emotional gourmet.

The comic is about how Anna, Bella and Caramella travel to Berlin in an airship in the 19th century, which crashes because of an accident in the Bohemian Forest . The three come into conflict with an Austro-Hungarian nobleman and later join a group of Galicians who are on their way to Hamburg to emigrate to America. After an exciting crossing in America, they experience more adventures first in New York City and then in the Wild West .

The offshoot series should find a new readership, especially among girls, but at the same time reach the regular readership. The comic was initially drawn in the Kawaii Creative Studio under the direction of Marieke Ferrari and Massimiliano Narciso, the text comes from Jens U. Schubert. In May 2016 (with No. 29) Jens Fischer from Verlag MOSAIK took over the complete design.

The first issue was published in August 2008 with an edition of 87,000 copies. In October 2008, a making-of for the comic was published for the Frankfurt Book Fair . A second issue followed in October 2009 and a third in January 2010. Since then, the series has been published quarterly.
