The Mossel Lake is an irregularly shaped lake with a diameter of about 300 meters on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It is surrounded by low hills in the Vestfold Mountains .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1983 ostensibly after the mosses on the east bank .
