Mosselprom ( Russian Моссельпром ) is the abbreviation for "Московское объединение предприятий по переработке продуктов сельскохозяйственной промышленности" which " Moscow Association of institutions for processing of products of the agricultural industry" means.

Soviet era

The organization existed in the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1937. It was present through advertisements by graphic designer Alexander Mikhailovich Rodchenko and poet Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky . The advertisement was also placed on the administration building, which was built in the central Moscow district of Presnensky by architect Nikolai Dmitrijewitsch Strukov in the constructivist style.

In 1924 the silent film Папиросница от Моссельпрома (Papirosniza ot Mosselprom, The Cigarette Girl from Mosselprom ) by Yuri Scheljabuschski based on a script by Alexei Fajko and Fyodor Alexandrovich Ozep with Julija Ipewovna in the lead role was released.

21st century

The entrepreneur Sergei Lissowski runs a company under the brand name Mosselprom that mainly processes poultry . His advertising campaigns take on the historical motifs.

The paint on the historic building was restored in 1997 for the city's anniversary.
