Motherway Island is a small rock island in the Windmill Islands archipelago off the Budd coast of Wilkesland, East Antarctica . It is located 325 m north of Peterson Island near the southern end of the archipelago.
The island was mapped on the basis of aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946-1947) from February 1947. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1963 after Paul Thomas Motherway (1927-2002), a member of one of two units in the United States Navy for the creation of aerial photographs and photographs on site during Operation Windmill (1947-1948) in January 1948.
