The Motormännens Riksförbund (abbreviated M, often just called Motormännen) is Sweden's largest automobile association. The organization was founded on February 26, 1922 as Sveriges förenade motormä . The current name has been used since 1924. This is often translated in German as the Reichsverband der Kraftfahrer (Reichs Association of Motorists) and in English as The Swedish Automobile Association . The head office of the organization is on Fridhemsgatan in Stockholm.

The Motormännens Riksförbund has around 100,000 members (August 2018). The traffic club advises its members on travel, cars, car technology and legal issues. Motor magazine is published eight times a year. Motor has been Sweden's top-selling car magazine since 2012 .

The Motormännens Riksförbund is part of the international umbrella organization for the automobile, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

As an interest group, Motor Men regulates issues relating to insurance, road safety, the automotive industry, infrastructure and the environment.

A former managing director was Astrid Lindgren's husband , Sture Lindgren , who held the post from 1941 to 1952 and who launched Motor magazine in 1943. Astrid Lindgren also worked for the Motormännens riksförbund . Among other things, she wrote articles for Motors magazine, as well as her first books Fem automobilturer i Sverige (1939) and 25 bilturer i Sverige (1949, English: 25 automobile tours in Sweden , German: 25 car trips in Sweden or 25 car tours in Sweden ).

In 2003 the Motormännens Riksförbund got its first female manager , Maria Spetz . At that time, the automobile club, which until then had focused more on men and technology, was to be opened up to other topics such as travel, experiences, emotions, women and family. Women should now also be addressed specifically. These changes resulted in membership increasing from 90,000 in 2004 to 130,000 in 2006 over the next two years. Before that, membership had steadily declined from 250,000 in the 1980s.

Motormännen has a webshop for members and non-members.
