At 1570  m, Mount Cap or Cap Mountain is the highest point in the Franklin Mountains in the Canadian Northwest Territories .

It is located in the south of the Franklin Mountains east of the Mackenzie River .

The Mount Cap Formation is named after the mountain , a geological unit that extends from the Franklin Mountains around Mount Cap to the Mackenzie Mountains in the west .
