The Mount D'Archiac is a rocky summit of the Southern Alps in New Zealand . The mountain is 2,875 m high and is located at the top of the Godley Valley in Mount Cook National Park . It is named after the French geologist Viscount D'Archiac (1802–1868). The summit can be climbed from the Godley Hut or a camp on the mountain. The first ascent was made in March 1910 by New Zealand climbers James Robert Dennistoun , Jack Clarke and Lawrence Earle.
