The Mount Elie de Beaumont is a mountain in the Southern Alps in Mount Cook National Park and Westland National Park on the South Island of New Zealand . The mountain is 3109 m high, making it the highest peak in the Tasman Valley area .
It is named after the French geologist Léonce Élie de Beaumont .
It is best climbed in the summer of the southern hemisphere.
