Mount Henson is a 905 m high mountain in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . It rises in the lower foothills of the Prince Olav Mountains at the northeastern end of the Mayer Crags , where who represents the northwest boundary of the confluence of the Liv Glacier into the Ross Ice Shelf .
Participants of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930) discovered and photographed him in November 1929. It is named after Matthew Henson (1966–1955), a member of the team around the American polar explorer Robert Edwin Peary , which is said to have been the first on 6 April 1909 reached the geographic North Pole.
