The 1,339 meter high Mount Mansfield is a mountain in the Green Mountains in the US state of Vermont . It is the highest point in Vermont and lies on the border of the two counties of Chittenden and Lamoille . On the east side of the mountain is the Stowe Mountain Resort ski area . When viewed from the west or east, Mount Mansfield forms an elongated profile with a pronounced forehead ( The Forehead , 1184 m ), nose ( The Nose , 1228 m ), lip, chin (main peak, 1339 m ) and Adam's apple , 1257 m ). Bear Head ( 1192 m ) connects to the north .
