Mount Pleasant House in the Heritage Square Museum

The Mount Pleasant House (also Perry Mansion ) is a listed house in Los Angeles . Today the house stands on the site of the Heritage Square Museum .

The two-story building was built in 1876 for businessman William Perry by architect Ezra F. Kysor in the Italianate style in Boyle Heights. In its day it was one of the most expensive private homes in Los Angeles. In 1975 the house was moved from its old location on Mount Pleasant Street to the open-air museum on Homer Street, three miles away. The Colonial Dames Society of America restored it there until it was donated to the Museum Foundation in 1995.

The house has been on the list of entries in the National Register of Historic Places in Los Angeles since December 12, 1976 and is therefore a listed building
