The Mount Thundergut ( English , loosely translated Thunder Mountain throat ) is a rocky mountaintop in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 5 km northeast of Saint Pauls Mountain in the Asgard Range .
The mountain got its descriptive name from the New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee . When viewed from the east, the mountain shows a steep and concave rock fall , reminiscent of a gorge .
