The Mouvement écologiste indépendant (MEI) , dt. "Independent ecological movement", is an ecological-conservative party in France , which was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the former green politician Antoine Waechter , who is also its chairman. It is the counterpart to the German ÖDP and a member of the World Ecological Parties .
