history

It was founded in 2014 by producer Alexander Spöri and director Luca Zug.

MovieJam Studios mainly produces documentaries, especially docudramas , which have received many nominations and awards. After filming "Das (Bildungs) system" (winner of the Bavarian Jufinal 2018 in Roth ) and the nationally known documentary drama Unvergessen (winning film of the Tassilokulturpreis of the Süddeutsche Zeitung 2018/19) about the people who died in the rampage at the Olympic shopping center in 2016, the young filmmakers worked until 2019 on a film project about depressive episodes in adolescents.

Media reception

There was nationwide coverage of the film team. The Süddeutsche Zeitung speaks of the "youngest successful film producers in Germany", the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung of "young filmmakers with a heart". Many other supraregional media representatives reflected on the MovieJam Studios projects, initially criticizing some of them heavily, although it must be noted that mostly positive press reports appear.
