The Movimento Democrático das Forças da Mudança - Partido Liberal (MDFM-PL) ( German Democratic Movement of Forces for Change ) is a party on São Tomé and Príncipe that was represented several times in the Assembléia Nacional, the National Assembly of São Tomé and Príncipe , most recently in 2010 .
founding
After disagreements with his party leader, the Acção Democrática Independente , President Fradique de Menezes left the party. His supporters in the ADI split off from this and founded the MDFM-PL in 2001 with Menezes as party chairman.
Electoral successes
President Menezes was re-elected in 2006 with the MDFM-PL . The MDFM-PL became the second strongest party in 2002 in an electoral alliance with the Partido de Convergência Democrática - Grupa de Reflexão (PCD) and in 2006 the strongest party in the National Assembly, each with 23 members. When the two allies competed separately in 2010, both lost significantly. MDFM-PL could only send one MP. In 2014, they missed entering parliament. For the election on October 7, 2018 , MDFM-PL will again stand in an electoral alliance with the PCD, as well as the ADI spin-off União dos Democratas para Cidadania e Desenvolvimento (UDD).
