The Movimento per le Autonomie ( MpA , German  movement for autonomy ), formerly Movimento per l'Autonomia , is an Italian party . Founded on April 30, 2005 by Raffaele Lombardo and some center-right members of the Unione dei Democratici Cristiani e Democratici di Centro (UDC), its main distribution area is in Sicily .

In the parliamentary elections in Italy in 2006 , the MPA ran together with the Lega Nord and was able to send 5 MPs and 2 senators to Rome.

In the parliamentary elections in Italy in 2008 , the MpA stood as a coalition partner of Popolo della Libertà and Lega Nord and achieved 1.1% of the votes cast nationwide. Thus the party is represented in the 16th legislative period with 8 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 2 seats in the Senate .

The most important representative of the MpA is Raffaele Lombardo , the president of the autonomous region of Sicily .

At a party congress in early 2009, the party changed its name to Movimento per le Autonomie.

On November 12, 2010, the MpA terminated the government coalition with Berlusconi. Its only member of the government, Giuseppe Maria Reina, submitted his resignation on November 15, 2010.
