The Movimiento Cívico Madera de Guerrero (MG) is a conservative party in Ecuador that is oriented towards the city of Guayaquil . It was founded by Guayaquils Mayor Jaime Nebot , and its program is primarily geared towards regional autonomy. The MG is close to the Partido Social Cristiano (PSC), with which it also enters into electoral alliances. It has seven seats for Guayas Province in the National Assembly .

history

Jaime Nebot founded the Movimiento Cívico Madera de Guerrero before the parliamentary elections in 2009 to improve his chances of re-election as mayor, which he saw threatened by the severe electoral defeat of the Partido Social Cristiano in the parliamentary elections in 2006 . In the 2009 general election, MG and PSC competed with a list connection, which won a total of 11 seats. Half a year after the election, MG announced the faction community, and all seven members of the Guayas community joined the Movimiento.
