Movimiento Libertario Español

The Movimiento Libertario Español (MLE) was a Spanish anarchist organization. It was founded on February 26, 1939 during the final phase of the Spanish Civil War . Its sub-organizations were the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), the Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI) and the Federación Ibérica de Juventudes Libertarias (FIJL). The MLE combined the strengths of these three organizations in order to maintain the libertarian movement's ability to act even after its defeat in the civil war. He established clandestine structures in Francoist Spain and was legally active in exile. In France in particular, the MLE tried to act as a catchment basin for thousands of exiled Spanish libertarians. The National Council of the MLE was based in Paris. He owned u. a. Federica Montseny and Juan García Oliver . The MLE disbanded in Spain in 1944 and in exile in 1949 .
