Mswati II

Mswati II. (Also known under the names Mswazi , Mavuso or Mdvuso ; * 1820 , † 1868 ) was King of Swaziland between 1840 and 1868 .

Mswati II. Was also the eponym of weSwantini , which has been officially adopted as Eswatini in parlance since 2018. He is described by the anthropologist Hilda Kuper as "the greatest of the fighting kings of Swaziland". Swaziland achieved the greatest territorial expansion under his reign. He was the son of Sobhuza I and married to Tsandzile Ndwandwe , who ruled after his death.
