Dlamini IV.
Mbandzeni (also known as Dlamini IV. ) (* 1855 ; † October 7, 1889 ) was King of Swaziland between 1875 and 1889. He was the son of Mswati II. His brother Ludvonga II had been appointed by his father as his successor and died but before he could take office.
Dlamini's rule was recognized by the South African Republic . In return, he gave large areas of his territory to white immigrants. As a result, the land became scarce and some native Swazi lived outside their homeland in what is now Mpumalanga Province .
During his reign the First Boer War took place and his country was annexed by the British Empire. These conflicts began with the discovery of significant gold deposits at Piggs Peak and Forbes Reef, which attracted many Europeans and others from Mpumalanga.
Mbandzeni died in 1889 and his son Bhunu took power.
