The Mu-Us Desert or Maowusu Shamo ( Chinese 毛 烏 素 沙漠 / 毛 乌 素 沙漠 , Pinyin Máowūsù Shāmò ) is a desert in the center of the Ordos Plateau , which borders the Shaanxi Province to the north and the Ordos urban area of Inner Mongolia to the south.
The so-called "White City" ( 白城 子 , báichéngzǐ ; mong. Qagan hot) lies on its edge.
