Mudar Badran

Mudar Badran ( Arabic مضر بدران, DMG Muḍar Badrān ; * 1934 in Jarash ) was Prime Minister of Jordan three times .

His first term lasted from July 13, 1976 to December 19, 1979, the second from August 28, 1980 to January 10, 1984 and the third from December 4, 1989 to June 19, 1991.

In 1956 he finished his studies at Damascus University with degrees in law and financial economics. He worked as Chancellor of the Military Court of the Jordanian Army . In 1965 he became deputy director of the secret service for foreign espionage and in 1968 director for general intelligence. From 1973 to 1974 Badran was Minister of Education.

He was also foreign minister from 1976 to 1979 and at the same time minister of defense for almost the entire time as prime minister .

Badran is married and has four children. His brother Adnan Badran was Prime Minister in 2005.
