Muhammad Taqi Shurida

Muhammad Taqi Shurida or Muḥammad Taḳī Shūrīda (born 1858 in Shiraz ; died October 14, 1926 ) was a Persian poet.

Life and origin

Shūrīda comes from a humble background. He became completely blind after a smallpox infection, later, after the death of his father, he was taken into the care of his uncle, with whom he completed the Hajj before continuing his studies. He was held in high regard by the rulers and in high society. He left an extensive divan that was published by his son in 1946.
