Muhammet Tokmak (* 1972 in Kaman , Turkey) is a German politician ( SPD ). He became a member of Bremen's citizenship in autumn 2019 .

biography

education and profession

Tokmak graduated from the Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi School (today Gröpelingen Oberschule ) by 1990 . From 1990 to 1994 he trained as an industrial mechanic at Klöckner in Bremen. From 1994 to 1996 he worked in technical repairs on the blast furnace and from 1996 to 2010 as a fire fighter at ArcelorMittal. In 2006 he attended the Fire Brigade Academy in Hamburg with further training to become a senior firefighter. He has been a freelance member of the works council at ArcelorMittal Bremen since 2010 . He has been chairman of the works council since 2018.

politics

Tokmak has been a member of the SPD since 2014 and has been a board member in the SPD local association Gröpelingen since 2015. In 2015 he became a member of the Gröpelingen Advisory Board and has been the spokesman for the Construction Committee since 2017. In 2018 the SPD placed him in 36th place on the SPD list for the 2019 state election and in autumn 2019 he became a member of the Bundestag and spokesman for consumer protection for the SPD.

In the citizenry he is represented as a member in the following bodies:

  • Deputation for internal affairs
  • Municipal Deputation for Health and Consumer Protection
  • Municipal Port Committee
